The Solantiq Solar Forecast uses numerical weather prediction models to estimate your PV system's output hour by hour. Check the forecast each morning to optimise when you run energy-intensive appliances like washing machines, dishwashers, and EV chargers.
Combined with a battery storage system, the forecast helps you maximise self-consumption and minimise grid purchases — saving you money every day.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the solar forecast work?
The forecast combines current weather data (irradiance, temperature, cloud cover, snow) from Open-Meteo with your system parameters (capacity, tilt, orientation). It calculates hour-by-hour how much electricity your PV system is expected to produce.
Where does the weather data come from?
The weather data comes from Open-Meteo, an open weather service with high spatial resolution. The data includes direct and diffuse irradiance, temperature, wind speed and snow cover — all factors that influence PV yield.
How accurate is the forecast?
For today and tomorrow, the forecast typically achieves ±10-15% accuracy. Accuracy decreases for longer-range forecasts. The forecast is updated every 6 hours with the latest weather model data.
Is the solar forecast free?
Yes, the basic 3-day forecast is completely free. Premium subscribers get access to extended 7-day forecasts, historical comparisons, and push notifications.
